You know the saying. But I say – A picture is worth a few minutes of editing! Seeing is believing. Check out the photos here for before and after editing results. I know which ones I prefer. Great editing! I often take out of blur the backgrounds of indoor photos but you make yours look so bright too.
Well the bright is more for the product photography. I love your photos of your guys!

I use Photoshop Elements, as well as PicMonkey, Fotor and Pixlr for my photo editing.
Wow! Have not tried all of the others. Do have Snapseed installed on my computer, although it ‘s only offered/supported now as a phone app. Will have to check the others out.

Very cool! I don’t have any photo editing software, I’ve been using a free online site called Fotor.
I have never tried Fotor so don’t know its capabilities, but I think Photoshop Elements sells for around $75 on Amazon. I just went directly with Photoshop due to my business, but know from friends that Elements has most of the editing capabilities anyone would ever need, unless perhaps you are a professional photographer. I am sure that I have only scratched the surface with Photoshop…it is a very powerful program. I had used film for years and joined the digital photography world late, but it has been so much FUN! I got absolutely giddy the first time I tried out all the artistic filters in Photoshop!!
Now just yesterday we were thinking about how people do this with their cameras. Certainly a trick we’d like to learn to edit our photos. Thank you for sharing – love the photogs and the beds!

If you have a version of Photoshop you can follow my video tutorial and do the same thing! And I am sure other photo editing software has very similar capabilities. Have a great New Year!

Mommy uses Picasa for regular editing and Pzap for anything fancy. She is too cheap to buy photoshop and you can tell if you look at the photos on our blog. Haven’t tried either of those but I guess it’s because I already have Photoshop. There is a free program called FotoFuze that takes the background out of photos if they are shot on a solid color like white or black. Photoshop gives far more control, though.

We agree with your comments for ordinary folk who don’t have Photoshop, Elements does everything smaller folk need to make shiny good pictures. Mum has an older version pf PS which is fine by her! I am always surprised how much you can go with basic photo programs tho’ almost everything, including the most important – reducing the resolution to it doesn’t take up so much space on your blog!

Shiny good pictures…love that! My version of Photoshop is CS2, which if I remember came out about 2007, very old by technology standards! And yes it is very important to reduce the resolution so your photo doesn’t take up too much space on your blog. A graphic artist friend I have advised to try and stay around 100K or less, so that the file also doesn’t take too long to open.
I love your edits! They look really good. Personally, I use this really old version of Photoshop that a friend gave me years ago. Maybe some day I will get to upgrade. Their new stuff looks really fun. Your cat is really cute by the way. What a perfect subject! 🙂
Thanks for the kind words. My version is really old too, CS2. I’m thinking about trying out the new subscription service Adobe has for all their products, so I can at least try the newer software.
Lucy poses for most of my photos because she simply loves the camera. Never seen anything like it, really.
Nice. My computer with Photoshop Elements needs to go to the shop so I’ve just been using online editing sites. I’ll have to try it out after it gets fixed.
I was just looking online and there are so many tutorials for Photoshop that it looks like you could learn just about anything outside the classroom! Love the ability to learn on your own time.
